A housewife allegedly committed suicide by jumping under a running train at Shankarpur rail station in the Jessore district town on Thursday night. Quoting Tarek Mohammad, sub-inspector of Jessore Kotwali Police Station, news agency UNB said Sharmin Khatun, 24, wife of Abdullah Hussain of Rambhadrapur in Kalaroa upazila of Satkhira district, jumped off before a train around 9 pm and was critically injured.

Later she was rushed to Jessore Medical College Hospital where she died at night. Police, quoting family members who were contacted by the deceased’s mobile phone, said Sharmin, daughter of Ansar Ali of Baksha village in Sadar upazila, came to her parents’ house and committed suicide over a family feud, reports UNB. Police sent the body to Jessore Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
