Samsung releases Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge smartphones

Samsung just released its flagship phones for 2016 on MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2016 at Barcelona - Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. They are very similar in looks like last year’s Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge but there are some key differences that Samsung has really improved in a number of ways. The main improvement is on S7 Edge where the screen size has been increased from 5.1 inch to 5.5 inch and packed a much larger 3600mAH battery. The display uses Samsung’s Super AMOLED technology spotting a 2560X1440 QHD resolution. The camera has been trimmed down to 12 Megapixels but with improved autofocus and larger pixel size for low-light capture capability. Samsung has brought back two very demanding and popular features from previous Galaxy phones – microSD card support and water resistance. The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge support microSD cards up to 200GB and is now IPX7 rated water resistance making it resistant to water 1 meter in depth up to 30 minutes.  Both the devices run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 / Samsung Exynos 8890 Octa chipset depending on your region, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The phones come in 4 different colors – Black, White, Gold and Silver. Both of them run on latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge is expected to cost $699 and $799 respectively.
