No IS in Bangladesh: Asaduzzaman reiterates
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal yesterday reiterated his earlier conviction that there is no existence of the international militant outfit-IS- in Bangladesh.
"We have visited and searched each and every corners of Bangladesh, but could not found any trace of the IS," the minister said while speaking at an anti-militancy rally on Savar College ground here this evening.
Asaduzzaman said the members of the law enforcement agencies faced the attacks of home-grown militant forces on Gulshan Holey Artisan Bakery on July 1 and at Sholakia in Kishoreganj during Eid-ul-Fitr congregation with courage.
He said the anti-Islamic home-grown militant organizations- Jama'atul Mujahedeen Bangladesh (JMB) and (Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami (HuJI)) and Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) carried out the attacks.
He said the present government has taken necessary steps to combat these bad elements with an iron hand.
Food Minister Advocate Qaumrul Islam also took part in the rally as the chief discussant. The food minister urged all patriotic people to forge unity against anti-state militant forces.
Savar Pourasabha Mayor Haji Abdul Gani chaired the meeting. Local lawmaker Enamur Rahman and Savar Upazila AL President Hasina Dowla, among others, spoke on the occasion.
