10 shanties burnt in a fire at Dhaka slum
An incendiary broke out at a slum located at East Raja Bazar area in the capital this morning that burnt at least 10 shanties.
No casualty was reported in this connection immediately.
Being informed, ten firefighting units were trying to douse it till 9:35am.
The cause of the fire could not be ascertained immediately.
Locals said that the fire originated at 8:20am.
Fourth class employees of Dhaka University built the slum. While some of them live there, some others have rented the shanties to other people.
