Shab-e-Meraj on Wednesday

The holy Shab-e-Miraj will be observed in the country on Wednesday night (May 4) with due religious fervour.

The National Moon Sighting Committee took the decision on April 8 at a meeting after reviewing reports received from different parts of the country.

Different Islamic organisations have chalked out elaborate programmes, including milad mahfils, on the occasion.

On 27th of Arabic month of Rajab every year, the Muslims observe the Shab-e-Meraj, the night when Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) embarked on a special journey to meet Allah.

In the journey, the Prophet traveled on the “Buraq” to Heaven where Allah gave him some instructions to take back to the faithful regarding the details of prayers.

The Muslim devotees offer special prayers all the night in mosques and homes seeking blessings of Allah for the welfare of the entire nation and the Muslim Ummah.
